“Wings of Storm“ perform at the Sinj Air Show
The “Wings of Storm” Aerobatic Group of the Fixed-wing Squadron of the 93rd Air Base in the “Zemunik” Barracks performed at the “Sinj Air Show 2015“ organised to mark the 300th Anniversary of the “Alka“ Tournament.
It was the first performance of the Group with new pilots. They flew in a six PC-9M formation, presenting Captain Zvonimir Mravunac, who recently succesfully completed the aerobatic training and practice, as a new Group member.
The current Group’s composition is as follows: o: Lieutenant Colonel Damir Barišić, Team Leader, Captain Ivan Anđić, Left Wing, 1st Lieutenant Goran Grgić, Right Wing, 1st Lieutenant Darko Belančić, Slot, 2nd Lieutenant Denis Živaljić, 2nd Left Wing and Captain Zvonimir Mravunac 2nd Right Wing.
The Team Leader, Lt. Col. Damir Barišić announced the performances at the military parade in Zagreb and Knin on 4 and 5 August respectively, commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Operation “Storm“, where the Group will also mark its 10th anniversary. “I am satisfied with the Group’s progress and we are looking forward to performing at the forthcoming ceremonies“.
Captain Mravunac expressed the honour over being a part of the “Wings of Storm“, particularly as he completed the training in the year rounding their first decade. “The performance in Zagreb on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Military and Police Operation “Storm” will be one of the most emotional and memorable days of my pilot career. Through the Wings of Storm we promote the skills and abilities of the Croatian pilots, the Croatian Air Force and the Croatian Armed Forces in a best of ways“, said Captain Mravunac.
