Chosen as the Enlisted Soldier and NCO of the Month in May Private First Class Tomislav Luketić (of the Guards Mechanised Brigade and Sergeant First Class Igor Pavlov of the Guards Motorised Brigade of the Croatian Army were received by the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Drago Lovrić on 17 June 2015. General Lovrić congratulated them emphasising the pivotal role of enlisted soldiers and NCOs in the Croatian Armed Forces as a valuable model for the junior soldiers.  “You have set the model to follow in the exercise of one’s duties and acting in protection of the cizizens and property of the Republic of Croatia. I expect you to continue your exemplary performance. Performing with our best  abilities and readiness and responsibly towards the citizens and the country is our moral obligation towards the fallen Croatian defenders“. Private First Class Tomislav Luketić, a Recon of the Armoured Battalion of the Guards Mechanised Brigade, has displayed excellent psychological and physical fitness, demonstrated in the Armed Forces Orienteering Championship held in April 2015, helping his team to win the bronze medal, and in the recent Best Soldier Competition as second oldest competitor ranking 11th  – the highest of his Brigade. PFC Luketić is a model of a competent and experienced soldier, with exemplary appearance, conduct and commitment. Sergeant First Class Igor Pavlov is an IT NCO in the Signal Coy of the Guards Motorised Brigade and displayed extraordinary commitment in training and evaluation of Brigade’s recruits during the recent boot camps, and also performed well during the Sport Games of the Guards Motorised Brigade, winning silver medal in the IPA Tournament of Precision Shooting (pistol) Split 2015 respectively.
SFC Pavlov’s respectable military skills, professional qualities and responsibility are complemented with  human qualities, evinced by rescuing a man in a wheelchair drowning in the Krka river in Knin in May. The humanity, constant commitment and exemplary soldier record  earned him rightfully the title of the NCO of the Month in May.
