The venue of the third the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Extraction training (the first two were the Barracks  “Josip Jović” at Udbina in 2015 and the Training Range “Gakovo” near  Grubišno Polje in 2016 respectively)  was the Training Range “Cerovac” near Karlovac . The S.E.R.E. pertains to the procedures the soldiers and civilians too (.e.g. police officers, diplomatic personnel) are advised to apply if found isolated in an area controlled by the hostile forces to return safely to the friendly side.
The training is administered by the IMOTC , and graded as A-, B- or C-level, depending on the appraisal of the trainee’s exposure to the risk of isolation. The B-level training was conducted from  11 – 14 September 2017, comprising 16 classroom instruction and 14 instructor demonstration and practical training classes.
“Hrvatski vojnik“ chooses to cover the C-level training, which involves  wilderness survival  training, exposing the trainees to the most complex of scenarios and hardest challenges. The C-level requires elevated soldier trainedness and psychological stamina, concluded with a 72-hour drill placing the trainees in a simulated situation of a prisoner camp detention.  The form and the content of the training is in compliance with NATO  Personnel Recovery doctrine.
