Cadet pilots’ maiden parachute jumps

Pilot cadets successfully completed their first parachute jumps at the “Lučko“ airport in early March 2018, preceded by ground preparations taking place in the Barracks "Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić" at Zemunik

Pilot cadets successfully completed their first parachute jumps at the “Lučko“ airport in early March 2018, preceded by ground preparations taking place in the Barracks “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić” at Zemunik, and comprising familiarisation with the theroretical considerations of parachute jumps, parachute rig and packing, the parachute handling techniques, training in emergency procedures and landing. The cadets of the 24th generation of military pilot programme and the 5th generation of flight training candidates of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence’s Pilot School on 7 March 2018 performed their first parachute jumps in the Airport “Lučko“. Parachute training,as an obligatory part of the military pilot education programme was organised and administered jointly by the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence’s Training Centre, the Special Forces Command and the Multi-purpose Helicopters Squadron of the 91st Air Base of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence.. Parachute jumps were preceded by ground preparation in the Barracks “Pukovnik Mirko Vukušić” at Zemunik, which encompassed parachuting theory, the familiarisation with the parachute rig, parachute packing, parachuting techniques, training in emergency procedures, and landing. The cadets practiced the acquired knowledge in the “Lučko“ Airport. The Pilot School Commander, Colonel Branko Plazanić commended the trainng and congratualated to the future military pilots on successfully completed parachute jumps. THe completed parachute training allows the cadet pilots to take the basic flying training (“Common Basic Training“) on the ZLIN 242 L aircraft. The training opens with a technical laboratory of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence’s Training Centre ” Rudolf Perešin “, to be followed by theory preparation and flignth training in the Fixed.wing Squadron of the 93rd Air Base.
