Exercise “Saber Strike 18”

The Distinguished Visitors Day of the Exercise “Saber Strike 18“ was held in the Training Range “Pabrade“ in Lithuania on 11 June 2018.

The joint operation of NATO forces deployed within the Enhanced Forward Presence in Republic of Lithuania  and the members of the U.S. Army and of the Lithuanian Armed Forces featuring the tactics, techniques and procedures in urban terrain has demonstrated top trainedness and joint operation capability by the aerial, land and the forces for special purposes. The Distinguished VIsitors Day of the Exercise, held in the Training Range “Pabrade“ was attended by the Commander of the Guards Mechanised Brigade of the Croatian Army, Brigadier General Tihomir Kundid. The Distinguished Visitors Day of the Exercise “Saber Strike 18“ was held in the Training Range “Pabrade“ in Lithuania on 11 June 2018, and was attended by the Commander of the Guards  Mechanised Brigade of the Croatian Army Brigadier General Tihomir Kundid and the Croatian Defence Attache to the Republic of Lithuania Colonel Jugoslav Jozić. They were briefed on the purpose and main training objectives and the earlier phases of the Exercise. The joint operation of NATO forces deployed within the Enhanced Forward Presence in Republic of Lithuania  and the members of the U.S. Army and of the Lithuanian Armed Forces involving  the use of the tactics, techniques and procedures in urban terrain has demonstrated top trainedness and joint operation capability by the aerial, land and the forces for special purposes. The Exercise was followed by a static display of the equipment and assets used by the units. Brig  Gen. Kundid and the Croatian Defence Attaché, Colonel Jozić and the Commander of the HRVCON, Major  Marko Krpan visited the members of the Contingent. Brig. Gen. Kundid , the Deputy  Commanding General for Army National Guard, USAREUR Maj. Gen. John Gronski and Deputy Commander of the Bundeswehr Army Lieutenant General Carsten Jacobson extended congratulations on the demonstrated trainedness to the participating forces. The Exercise Saber Strike is an annual event, taking place for the eighth time, aimed at enhancing readiness and interoperability of NATO forces and at testing the capability of fast deployment  of NATO’s  Very High Readiness Joint Task Forces. It is an inter-service NATO exercise conducted in four member nations – Republic of Estonia, Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Poland), engaging  ca 18,000 soldiers from 19 member nations, and is commanded by the Multinational Corps Northeast.
