Some 160 soldiers, led by the Croatian Army Commander Lieutenant General Boris Šerić, attended the 5th Military Pilgrimage at Udbina on 10 September 2020, organised by the Croatian Army Command. The Pilgrimage Commander was Colonel Mile Vukičević.

A mass in front of the Church of the Croatian Martyrs was co-recited by the Military Ordinary in the Republic of Croatia Msgr. Jure Bogdan and military chaplains and priests of the Gospić – Senj diocese in front of the Church of Croatian Martyrs.

Msgr. Bogdan emphasised that Croatian soldiers were spiritual and had high standards of behaviour and dignity, promoted their homeland at all levels and were professionals but also cared for the families.

The Ordinary stated that the pilgrimages were acts of personal devoutness as well as an opportunity to enhance humanity, Christianity and national identity.

Prior to the mass wreaths were laid for all Croatian martyrs, fallen and deceased defenders at the cross in the Memorial Park near the Church of the Croatian Martyrs.

The mass was enhanced by the performance of the Croatian Navy Vocal Ensemble “Sv. Juraj”.
