“Tigrovi“ Battalion young members exercise at Bralovac
The exercise is tailored to prepare the 1st Mechanised Company for the evalution scheduled for late September 2017, within the Exercise “Udar 17“. “We are presently practicing the basic tasks – the live firing by squads and groups,to be followed by the evaluation of platoons next month. We shall procede with the exercise throughout the year – the Battalion’ s plan is that the Company undertakes the comprehensive training process“, said Major Mlinarić, the Commander of the 1st Mechanised Battalion “Tigrovi“.
The current year brings a busy schedule of activities, exercises at home and abroad, practices and evaluation events for the Battalion. One of the first planned exercise cycles commenced at the Training Range “Ralovac“ at Crvena zemlja near Knin in late January , which implies strong gusts of bora and freezing cold on the slopes of Dinara Mountain, but they only add up to the desired realistic training for the Battalion members. They run, take prone position, assemble the mortars and calmly talk about their impressions to the “Hrvatski vojnik“ team. Overseeing attentively the performance of his subordinates Major Mlinarić claims: The soldiers’ job is in the field, practicing firing and other tasks; it was their motivation and it lifts their morale. The present activity is at once an excellent opportunity to train and maintain the high readiness level of the Armed Forces and to familiarise the young personnel with their tasks and to build their abilities to the level allowing them to take live firing“.The young servicemen have been given due attention. The Battalion has received a significant number of young personnel, for whom the exercise conducted at “Bralovac“ training range to 10 February was a right opportunity to practice the basic military skills, preliminary firing and live firing They are taught and supervised by NCOs with enviable combat experience from the Homeland War.
Major Mlinarić explained that the exercise was tailored to the preparation of the 1st Mechanised Company for the evalution scheduled for late September 2017, within the Exercise “Udar 17“. We are presently practicing the basic tasks – the live firing by squads and groups,to be followed by the evaluation of platoons next month. We shall procede with the exercise throughout the year – the Battalion’ s plan is that the Company undertakes the comprehensive training process“ Upon the reorganisation the Comapny has received a significant number of young soliders and we need to start from the beginning – the basic military skills, followed by preliminary firing and live firing respectively. Another priority is to prepare the Company to take part in the Exercise “Saber Guardian 17“ to be conducted in Romania, followed by the preparation for the evaluation event – the Exercise “Udar 17“. The Company is a component of the Mechanised Infantry Battle group (BG MP1), which is to undergo evaluation during the Exercise “Udar 17“ for the execution of tasks in accordance with the required capabilities“. The Exercises conducted at the Training Range “Crvena zemlja“ near Knin from 30 January to 10 February 2017 comprised the preliminary and live shooting, which precede the situational firing with VHS -1, VHS-2 and semi-automatic rifle by platoons, tactical training, night training using the NVG and evaluation of squads. The exercise saw the engagement of a recently assigned support platoon, which prepared for the firing scheduled for 2017.
The Exercise “Saber Guardian 17“ will be conducted in Romania from 14-17 July 2017, and the main part of the Croatian contingent – over 200 members of the Croatian Armed Forces – will arrive in early July. The Exercise comprises live fire shooting by joint forces of allied and partner nations, supported by artillery and aerial forces.
