15th Anniversary of the Honorary Battalion
The “Tuškanac” Barracks in Zagreb on 3 September hosted the ceremony marking the 15th Anniversary of the Honorary Battalion, which was attended by the Envoy of the President of the Republic, Domagoj Juričić, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Dragutin Repinc, the Head of the Military Intelligence and Security Agency, Brigadier General Ivica Kinder, the Head of the Military Office to the President, Brigadier General Gordana Garašić, retired general officers and the former members of the Honorary Battalion and its predecessors.
The Battalion Commander, Colonel Slobodan Kratohvil delivered a welcome address in the sport hall of the Barracks, followed by the brief documentary on the history and the present organisation of the Battalion. The Honorary Battalion is assigned with various tasks, ranging from security to special tasks in support to the Office of the President of the Republic and the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces. Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Dragutin Repinc in his address said: “Your activities and performance, whether for security and protection or protocol, are followed with admiration in public and accept no mediocrity . The members of the Battalion demonstrate excellence year after year, and prove to be worthy of the commendations from the media. The Battalion is one of the symbols of the Croatian Armed Forces“.
